Bible instruction and study that encourages students to, not only, learn facts about God but also teach about and invite students into a personal relationship with God is a primary goal at NHCS. In K-5th grade teachers use DeepRoots, Bible Curriculum for a Defendable Faith, as a tool for guiding students in the study of the Bible. DeepRoots is a digital curriculum that is designed to equip students with the tools and training to stand firm in the face of today’s cultural challenges. Elementary teachers lead children daily in devotions and times of prayer, where children can share prayer requests and pray for one another.
Kindergarten children engage in a survey of the Bible.
First grade students learn Bible stories from Creation through the Promised Land.
Second grade studies the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Third grade studies about Israel and how God used His chosen people to prepare for the coming of Jesus.
Fourth grade investigates the book of Acts and learns about the early church.
Fifth grade looks into the Old Testament at the time when the nation of Israel divides into two kingdoms.
This curriculum assures that NHCS students receive dynamic and engaging instruction as they are encouraged to become “Genuine Christians.”
