Elementary Band

4th and 5th grade students

"I am SO excited you are interested in band! This is my fourth year at NHCS, but I have taught since 2007. I received my degree in music from Azusa Pacific University in 2005, and have been performing and teaching ever since. I am so excited to share my passion for music with you! Your first year of band is all about getting familiar and comfortable with a brand new instrument. It will definitely sound funny (at least for a while), will probably be frustrating, and (I hope), will be the most rewarding choice you make!" Rebecca Kincl, Band Director

Practices are after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Dodson Hall (A205) from 3:20 - 4:05 p.m.

• The first practice is September 3, 2024
• There is no band on:
  • October 8, 10, and 24
  • December 10, 12, 17, and 19
  • Whenever school is closed

The cost for band is $450

• Students are expected to attend and participate for the entirety of the 2024-2025 school year, including at any performance opportunities required
• The last day to withdraw from band without being charged for the entire school year is September 26, 2024
• The 4th-8th grade Band Christmas Concert is on December 3 at 7 PM in the Worship Center

Students are responsible for providing their own instruments. A local resource available is Mozart, Earhart & Me. For families who are having difficulties securing an instrument, there are a limited number of school instruments available to borrow.
